Himanthaline is a liquid extract, purified by ultrafiltration from Himanthalia elongata. Freshly harvested plants were frozen, cut into small pellets and centrifuged. The ultrafiltrate (10 kDa) provides a liquid extract rich in active compounds.
The specific extraction process gently collected all the components of Himanthalia elongata cells. The extract is further purified but no additives (except preservatives) or solvents are added to the product. The Himanthalia we use comes from the Iroise Sea in Brittany, in the heart of the resource, washed by high quality seawater.
